She’s been on top since her debut in 2010 with Pink Friday and remains relevant 15 years later. Few rappers especially women have managed to dominate like her for over a decade. she has the Most Billboard Hot 100 entries of any female rapper with over 149+ songs charted with 23+ top 10 hits. First solo female rapper to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in decades (Super Freaky Girl, 2022) with Multiple Platinum albums and singles. Her alter egos, colorful wigs, and Barbie persona changed how female rappers present themselves. She made it mainstream for women to be both lyrical rappers and pop culture icons. Her influence is seen in nearly every new wave of female rappers today. She raps, sings, and switches between hardcore bars and commercial pop hits seamlessly. Tracks like “Roman’s Revenge” prove her rap skills, while “Super Bass” and “Starships” showed her pop crossover power. Artists like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice, Doja Cat, and Latto all acknowledge Nicki’s influence, whether directly or indirectly. She opened doors for female rappers to dominate the charts the way men had for decades. In recent years, newcomers like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat have challenged the crown with big hits and cultural moments but still not doing it like nicki. Hip-hop fans often argue over whether Nicki still “runs it” or if the new generation has shifted the throne which is funny 'cause she's still the most streamed female rapper still this day.
Yes Nicki Minaj is still considered the Queen of Rap because of her unmatched longevity, lyrical ability, chart success, and cultural influence. Even with new stars emerging, no one has yet equaled both her impact and staying power in the rap game.
